over wages. we katie? >> protests just starting to get underway in southern california. we watching people come and go and sweat shirts are handed out and a man has a bullhorn. in new york workers have been at it for hours. >> you heard that as the day rolls out fast food employees in 100 cities will walk off the job of the workers in manhattan began the protest at 6:30. events are planned at lunch at some mcdonald's in san jose, oakland, and antioch. workers are asking for more money, a minimum wage of $15. that wage now is $7.25. that is $15,000 for a full time employees which is not enough. >> until we lit -- lift the workers up there is not a true recovery from the greatest recession since the depression. >> if the minimum wage goes up to $15 an hour food prices will go up and there will be fewer jobs. last month, rebound said he would back a senate measure to raise the minimum wage not to $15 but to $10.10 an hour. san francisco and san jose already pay $10 or more an hour on average. on average they make $9 an hour. >> governor brown hold as strong advantage over potential g.o

small plane disappeareds on? with four family members on board. katie? 40 search personnel are on the ground with soldier aircraft. there is some hope because planes picked up an emergency locator transmitter. it further narrowed the seven area. the small plane took off from oregon on sunday headed to montana and the pilot reported engine problems over idaho. on board was his daughter and his fiance students at byu and jonathan was meeting her family for the first time over the holiday and the wedding is a month from day the jonathan's uncle has faith in the piloting but necessities there is more at issue. >> our concern is they have survived the crash and could be injured but having to survive in ten degree weather at night with snow and no way to keep warm. >> his son, daniel, and his wife were on the plane. daily smith founded serial tek a pioneer so the wear giant. searching begins in an hour. >> in sonoma, efforts are growing for the creation of a park in memory of 13-year-old andy lopez, the board is looking at respecting the lot where lopez was shot while carrying a

>> good morning, everyone, i'm katie marzullo. it's 6:00 a.m. on saturday morning a lot of stuff going on with cold and rain, maybe snow. meteorologist lisa argen, good morning. >> good morning to you. most of the activity, well, all of it moved through while you were sleeping. wind and rain and live doppler 7hd this morning w he picking up cloud cover, anybody a few sprinkles but all the advisories for the higher elevation snow has expired. could see a few sprinkles. temperatures dropping in the north bay. right now we are experiencing the mildest temperatures we will see all day because it's the northwest winds picking up behind the front. we will see numbers not get out of the 40s today. so 30s and 40s right now with some fog in in the north b. otherwise below average, chilly, dry today. cool afternoon. we will look for the breezy winds and another freezing cold night tonight into sunday night. but is there any more precip on the way? i'll let you know coming up. katie. >> lisa, thank you. in the south bay the frigid temperatures have been more than just uncomfortable, they ha

>> good morning, everyone, i'm katie marzullo in for carolyn tyler on this sunday. it is 6:00 a.m. we will start off with a quick first look at the weather with meteorologist lisa argen. >> another freezing cold morning until about 9:00 when the temperatures begin to come out of the 20s and 30s. so as we take you through the morning hours, we will be down into the mid-20s. that sun comes up at 7:13. we are in the upper 20s from novato, napa and santa rosa. san francisco at 39 right now. our coast in in the mid-30s. right through 7:00 very little change. by noontime low to mid-40s. by the afternoon maybe some areas could hit around 50, but overall once again we will be at least 10 degrees below average. just in the upper 40s today. less wind and a spare-the-air day this afternoon. we will look for a moderating trend coming into play as soon as tomorrow. katie. >> warming trend sounds good to me. thank you, lisa. meanwhile in the south bay officials are working to save lives as the temperature drops low enough to create life-threatening conditions. at least four deaths have occurr

since they tried to get the plane out. >> good morning, everyone, i am katie marzullo. >> at 6:00, a challenges that we will face this morning is the cold weather. >> we will check with leyla gulen, and wouldn'ty, too, -- and windy. we have high clouds from the first string of the cold snap from the pacific northwest and behind it a cold air mass from alaska in the southbound direction. we do have reports of precipitation in monterey and you may wake up to a little bit of moisture on the roads but, really, not very much. it will be mostly dry for the better part of the week and from the kgo program -- exploritorium, it is winds at 20 miles per hour with isolated shower possible and freezing cold the next few afternoons will we have cooler temperatures in oakland and san francisco and 51 in san francisco, and oakland is 52. for much of the south bay, it is 52. half moon bay is chilly at 50 degrees. headed to the roads, we will see what is happening in traffic. we have a couple of issues including a brushfire burning off the side of the freeway in oakland and if you are traveling
